North’s vs South’s Game Photos

The Premier colts scored an emphatic 48 - 7 win over South’s on Saturday at Chipsy Wood Oval. With a mounting injury toll, losing captain Zac Bowman and winger Jake Myers during the week adding to a growing list, this was going to be a danger game.

The team was on the back foot early, with South’s scoring the first try. North’s bounced back to lead 12 -7 at the break. It was after the break that the team showed its class with 6 tries being scored.

Nick Boney reveled in his first game as captain by scoring 3 tries and kicking two goals for a personal tally of 19. The forwards were dominant in the tough stuff, with Jack Chiriabaglio, Gerard Bell and Tonga Maafu leading from the front. They were strongly supported by Kyle Hughes and the Jones brothers.

In the backs, Elias Moli had a great game in attack with two tries and was very strong in defence. His brother Elijah made a successful comeback from injury with some strong runs and it was good to see replacements Tom Clarke and Sean Heffernan perform strongly.

Next week sees a stern test for the team against high-flyers GPS. A good crowd for the last home game will certainly help the boys.
